The Tournament Encourages the Participation of Underserved Youngsters in Physical Activity – Dmitry Druzhinsky

People from different walks of life such as lawmakers, commercial and media experts, stars, and sports enthusiasts come together every year to watch the quick-paced contest. Since 2015 local leadership from Brooklyn and the Bronx, have been smashing the ball to the wall in the Johnny Ray Memorial Pro Wall Ball Tournament at MatchPoint NYC. As per Dmitry Druzhinsky, the cross-town competition is led by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. to include downtown and underserved youth in physical activity, and also benefits the U.S. Wall Ball Association’s education, anti-violence and anti-obesity plans. The competition, started in 2012, honors the life of Jonathan Ray, the late brother of the USWA CEO, and the source of inspiration behind the creation of the association. Dmitry welcomes the opportunity to help organizations that promote a healthy lifestyle to complex.
