As per the U.S. Wall Ball Association, in the 1930s beach-goers hit a bald tennis ball against the sides of wooden jetties. This encouraged the New York Parks Department to create community handball courts in urban parks. Currently, the game is a professional sport better known as Wall Ball and is played at athletic centers all over the nation. Dmitry Druzhinsky, co-founder of MatchPoint NYC, a premier health and fitness complex in Brooklyn, was lately joined by leading political figures for the Pro Wall Ball Tournament. The annual big competition called “Battle of the Boroughs,” raises cognizance of public health and youth enablement. The victorious team was awarded a trophy and a year of bragging rights.
